Very important results from the West + something special in the East!….

The Western Canadians participating within the NHRA’s season apex Summit Racing ET Finals have been determined after action at Edmonton’s RAD Torque Raceway last weekend.   Four very talented drivers from the West have now qualified for a chance to become World Champions for 2026 after winning at RAD and will now move on into that contention within the upcoming showdown mix of 64 machines from all over North America as entries for Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle eliminator brackets.

As regional E.T. Finals winners – representing Canada within NHRA’s Pacific Northwest — their focus will now be for Las Vegas (Oct 29-Nov 2).  That competition will be included during the penultimate 2026 NHRA season national event there — under a huge spotlight and in front of a massive Las Vegas crowd.

The Western Canadian champions are Daniel O’Connor (from Edmonton) in Super Pro, Jason Mercer (Kelowna BC) Pro, Wally Kuzyk (Edmonton) for Sportsman and Riley Toth (Medicine Hat AB) for Bike ET.

Something Special This Weekend Cometh! — Toronto Motorsports Park will certainly be an apex of action this coming Labour Day weekend as the track presents its 2nd NHRA Canadian National Open event of the season.

The extremely full schedule, which in addition to JSCCS NHRA class car racing, will also include IHRP Pro Mods and Quick 32 Sportsman racing has also booked in numerous other attractions.  Not the least on that list will be the 1st annual “Battle of the Beasts”.  That is a scheduled match race showcasing arguably two of Canada’s “coolest drag cars” and most talented racers, Kyle Harris’s KHR ’32 Bantam versus Paul Noakes’s “Wheeler Dealer” nostalgia Nova Funny Car – both supercharged and alcohol-burning — head to head/best of three.

Kyle Harris – KHR Racing

Noakes Racing — Wheeler Dealer

So when you do hear somebody refer to — “that’s worth the price of admission alone” — well this is very applicable!

DragRaceCanada will post event results and highlights from Toronto Motorsports Park’s big Labour Day event – coming next week.
