DragRaceCanada recognizes and acknowledges more Canadian drag racing accomplishments!….

Quebec’s Daniel Mercier shot himself to the very top of the “leader board” as the all time quickest Canadian within TAD class racing – last weekend. During the NHRA Northeast regional points race held at Virginia Motorsports Park — Daniel roared to a stunning 5.120 secs driving his ADF Diesel-sponsored injected nitro car. That was the #1 qualifier for the event and the time slip did eclipse Canada’s previous all time quickest run in the class (5.151 secs) set by Shawn Cowie at Pomona last February. Daniel did come close to transferring that performance to victory lane too. He had a strong runner-up finish — with his only loss being to Troy Coughlin Jr., in the event’s championship round.

The final season points tally is official for the 2019 Can-Am Stock/SS series – a mainstay circuit based from Ontario. Kitchener’s Allen Sawicki has claimed that overall championship racing his G/CM classed Chevy S-10 stocker. Sawicki won three events during the 2019 season and his points talley prevailed over defending (and 3X champion) Chris Lozon – who is also from Ontario.

Jason Padd (from Chestermere AB) took home one of Canada’s toughest circuit championships in 2019. Racing within Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway’s Top Eliminator Club — this very prolific Top Dragster class racer parlayed a very fast season start (winning the first event in May & 2 overall) in his AutoMaxx-sponsored dragster. He had 2 other final round placings during the 9-event series to claim the prestigious 2019 title. And just for good measure — Padd also prevailed within Castrol Raceway’s supplemental “Cash is King” 11-race 1/8 mile series clinching that track championship too in the Mullis-built 632 CID Sunset Performance engined dragster.

The Maritimes’ Atlantic Canada Stock/Super Stock Association points title for 2019 goes to Mike Ingram’s ’68 Chevelle — which is based from Middle Sackville NS. Mike’s very consistent running F/SA enjoyed a great season campaign and his year end points total of 437 did unseat the 2X and defending series champion — Jeremy Keans.

At Mission Raceway during 2019 — Scott Robinson emerged victorious in final points for the Canada West Doorslammers circuit. Driving his Artex Barn Solutions ’68 Camaro (based from Chilliwack BC) Robinson won a truly tough and close season battle edging out Mike Bedsworth and Otto Schulte in the final points chase. The CWDS circuit was presented by Winter Harbour Marine & RV during 2019.
