St. Thomas Dragway hosts some Ontario doorslammer drama…

The 4th annual version of the Misener Motorsports Shootout was played out recently (Aug 7-8) at Southern Ontario’s St. Thomas Dragway (soon to be re-branded London Motorsports Park) facility.

This year’s event had something for everyone—from the index classes and Pro Tree bracket class to All Motor, Stick Shift, Unlimited Outcasts, and, for the first time ever in Canada, 5.30 Outlaws running Little Gangster rules.

The weather forecast definitely wasn’t in our favour going into the weekend, but somebody must have been looking over us at Sparta! It rained all around us, including places less than 10 minutes away, but somehow we didn’t get a drop.

70 cars took to the track for competition – entries from both Canada and the USA — on Saturday, putting on some exciting racing throughout the day.

Despite the weather threat, things managed to finish everything up just before nightfall, and the racers who made their way to the winner’s circle were:

Unlimited Outcasts winner — Mike Valasori

Kevin Shwietzer’s super cool turbo Fairmont wagon was in the house!

Unlimited Outcasts: Mike Valasori
5.30 Outlaws: Phil Sampson
Coyote Stock : Chad Stephens

Main Street Muscle: Devon Madison
Stick Shift: Scott Story (photo below)

6.50 Index: Lou Herfurth III
7.0 Index: Glenn Tovey

Congratulations to all of our winners and everyone who came out and competed at the 2026-edition Misener Motorsports Summer Shootout!
