Long time Canadian Nationals event standard – Paton Racing – brought in their 2-car PDS Top Fuel effort for the race with Todd Paton and Cameron Ferre at the controls. Todd Paton (above) was behind the wheel of a brand new race car (DragRaceCanada will post additional details — soon).

Ian Hill’s IHRP Pro Mod Shootout Series was on the event premises with a good field of Canada cars entered.  That list included the highly formidable supercharged machines of Eastern Ontario’s Al Martornio (above) and Claude St. Maurice (from Montreal Quebec).

Chatterson Racing debuted their race team’s “expanded equation” for the first time following their acquisition of Jeff Veale’s race car operations.  (Ryan Chatterson, Jeff Veale and Jeff Chatterson – above photo).   The team also hosted some licensing efforts for Californian John Ausherman (with Cam Brady – photo below).

Bolton Ontario’s legendary Tony Pontieri was scheduled to be part of a best of three all Canadian Mountain Motor Pro Stock match race for the event – however only one round was completed (versus Anthony Paone).

The race did allow for fans to get their first look at Canada’s newest Jet Dragster. Otis Symon (from St. Thomas ON) in his machine acquired from Hanna Motorsports.

Canadian class icon Larry Dobbs had his potent TAFC on hand at Grand Bend (with Ryan Stack at the controls) as did USA-based Greg Jacobsmeyer (below) with his very cool nitro-burning All-Star Dodge Challenger.

Brian Peeters (from Windsor ON) was also set to be part of the “Chicago Style” 4-car injected-nitro event.

Track owner Paul Spriet also brought in this rather evil looking — world’s only — PT Cruiser Jet-powered Funny Car!
