By recording his 3rd circuit win of the 2019 season – Don Walsh Jr. — has clinched the NMCA’s VP Racing Fuels Xtreme PM championship…
That accomplishment became official for the Michigan-based racer following the completion of the 2019 version 18th Annual NMCA All American Nationals held at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio (Aug. 22-25th).
Walsh, racing his turbocharged 2015 model C7 defeated a very feisty VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod program which saw 13 of it’s 16 qualifiers run in the 3-secs zone.
Walsh first paced the field with a thrilling 3.665 secs at 214.28 mph (low ET/Top speed) qualifier and was then all business while defeating Scott Quesenberry, Jim Widener and Tom Blincoe to advance to the championship round.
In that final match his run of 3.707 secs at 213.23 mph covered Craig Sullivan’s fan favourite supercharged Dodge Daytona (“Rusty #43”) which had a game 3.855 secs at 205.41 mph effort in the opposite lane.
