Canadian Cagnazzi Connection

Some big news emerging this week has Ontario’s Mark and Tony Martino forming a new alliance with NHRA Pro Stock powerhouse Victor Cagnazzi…..

An arrangement has been worked out which melds one of Cagnazzi’s highly potent motor programs with the Martino’s existing GXP Pro Stocker.

“We tested the car last weekend at Rockingham and had some impressive incremental times,” stated Mark Martino.  “We are going forward with a five race deal to run one of Victor’s motors.  I’m pretty optimistic as we will be able to better gauge ourselves in the Pro Stock class.  When we enter a race now we know we will have good power.  We are looking to be a top half qualified car.”

The car has also received a new wrap and will run beginning at NHRA Brainerd next weekend with Charter Communications livery.  The team is hoping that the race at Brainerd will then help set up an even stronger effort for the subsequent NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals.  Fans will recall that Mark was a qualifier in Pro Stock at that race last season (the first Canadian to do that since 1992).

Victor Cagnazzi engines are reputed within NHRA Pro Stock racing – including Championship contender Erica Enders who has won twice on the Full Throttle Series tour this year, including the last event at Seattle.
