Lucas Oil Sportsman eliminators were the only Gatornationals categories completed…

David Latino starred in Lucas Oil Sportsman class racing when he became the 27th driver to “double-up”.  He won in Stock with this Chevy Corvette (above) and then also won in Super Stock with his team’s Chevy Cobalt.

Competition eliminator produced a big win for Brad Ploud driving the AA/AM 23T – owned by Harry Swartz and tuned by Canada’s Sean Brown.  His victory in that class was his 2nd and also the 21st career NHRA national event title for the versatile driver.

Competition Eliminator — Brad Plourd, ’27 T, 6.346, 203.98 defeated Wes Leopold Jr., Stratus, 7.956, 172.50.

Super Comp — Ray Miller III, Dragster, 8.905, 177.07 defeated Ken Moses, Dragster, 8.927, 181.28.

Defending NHRA World Champion – Ray Miller III — won in Super Comp 8.90 racing.

Super Gas — Jonathan Anderson, Corvette, 9.910, 153.04 defeated Greg Slack, Maverick, 9.884, 155.61.

Top Dragster presented by Vortech Superchargers — Ross Laris, Dragster, 6.194, 227.27 defeated Anthony Bertozzi, Dragster, 6.119, 219.29.

Top Sportsman presented by Vortech Superchargers — Sandy Wilkins, Camaro, 6.741, 202.85 defeated Ron Riegel, Camaro, 6.962, 199.70

Ross Laris sped to victory in the highly competitive Top Dragster class – earning his 3rd career national event title.

Sandy Wilkins won the event’s Top Sportsman class racing his reliable nitrous injected Chevy Camaro. It was his 4th career NHRA TS class title
