Pandemic be damned! Western Canada’s NHRA divisional scene rallies to move forward this season….
Thanks to some very influential people and some innovative thinking — there will be a creative new drag racing series this summer including three different Western Canadian drag strips.
With financal help from Medicine Hat-based businessman, drag racing aficionado and accomplished racer himself – Mark Simmons — the Spider Electric Canadian Championship Series has been established exclusively for Canadian Racers.
This Canadian Championship Series has been formed to give Canadian racers who normally participate within the NHRA’s Lucas Oil Sportsman level each season (but now restricted from that due to the USA/Canada border closure) an opportunity to run for a high profile NHRA Series Championship afterall.
Racers competing in the Spider Electric Canadian Championship Series will claim their best 5 finishes of 8 events and earn grade points at each event.
NHRA classes running for a season Championship are: Stock/Super Stock Combo, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, as well as a Top Dragster/Top Sportsman combo. Each Series Champion will receive a Season Championship Wally, Champions Jacket, and NHRA Gold Card.

Racers are invited to monitor each track’s official website or social media feed for more individual event details including entry fees, event schedule and payouts.
